I’m pleased to announce that Gerry Beaumont, Michael Rowan (president of Inspection Depot, Inc.), and I just finalized an agreement that allows NACHI to use Inspection Depot’s “Illustrated Home Inspection Guide” images on NACHI’s Web sites. We have immediately switched the “tip of the day” images (located at the bottom of the NACHI home page) over to illustrations from the “Illustrated Home Inspection Guide” and will be using them heavily in upcoming online education offerings.

I'd like to personally thank Michael for making such a great product available to NACHI members free-of-charge!

Is the Tip of the Day in operation? I get a blank popup with a note that it can only be opened in a NACHI window. I use the Firefox browser and have tried shutting off the security blockers to no avail.

Any ideas?

James,

What version of Firefox are you using? The system has been tested on Firefox 1.0 and 1.01, Netscape 4.72, 6.2, and 7.2, Opera 5.11, 6.05, and 7.54u1, and Internet Explorer 4.01, 5.01 (SP2), 5.5 (SP2), and 6.0 (SP2).

I've made a little tweak to the system that might have fixed it all up without any work on your part. If not:

The system relies on the fact that your browser is sending the HTTP Referer header. You can verify that this is the case by typing "about:config" into the Firefox address bar. In the "filter" box, type "Referer" and then check the value of "network.http.sendRefererHeader." It should be 2--if its not, change it to 2 and then restart Firefox. The pop-up should start working.

Regards,

Thanks, all is now well.

I am running Firefox 1.02. The value was set at 2.

I am also running Norton Internet Security and its popup blocker apparantly works very well. Everything worked once I shut it off. I totally forgot about Norton. I had put NACHI on as an accepted site for popups but I guess that when I switched to Firefox it was lost in the process. I'll experiment with the settings to keep everything working the way I want it.

Thanks again for the help.
