anyone out there doing energy consulting for homeowners?

What charges? What forms to use for reporting?

Yes, I do but our reporting system and protocals are likely to be much different than yours. We use a program called Hot2000 to model the house.

I do believe that the air leakage depresurization test though is the same.

I’m not totally sure, but I think there will be something or a class on this at the convention.

Steve Luxton will be having a session for Home Energy Tune up on Saturday. The class is approximately 8 hrs long and is limited to 80 people.

The current education schedule is now listed on the convention website, with days, times, room number and instructor. We are still waiting for insturctor bio's and class descriptions to be returned to us for posting.

The on-line registration form hopefully will be up shortly. No sign up table and back log for this year

Is anyone currently marketing this type of service? What are your results? I am considering throwing it in as a marketing tool “buy a home inspection get a free energy audit”

I guess it depends on what you energy audit includes. The audits I do take a bit longer than a home inspection. So for me would be like cutting my fees in half. icon_eek.gif

One of the best places to maket energy audits are to the HVAC guys. When they get a client they often refer you to the client to go in before the equipment is ordered.

- client gets full energy audit not just Heat/cool loads
- HVAC guys get accuate Heat/cool loads to size the equipment and look good that they had an independant
- equipment is properly sized.
