This was my view from the roof today. Michigan's "Mighty Mac" It was a little breezy ( 25 mph +-) and cool ( 40 deg +-) but it sure was "pretty!" ![icon_smile.gif](upload://b6iczyK1ETUUqRUc4PAkX83GF2O.gif)

Wow! That brings back memories. My dad is from the UP, a little town called Trout Lake. Spent every summer there growing up. It's probably been 20 years since I've been there.

Yea, gotta be careful in high winds. We've had a few cars get blown right off. ![icon_cry.gif](upload://r83gSGUzNOacIqpjVReDwcR83xZ.gif)

I pass through Trout Lake just about every other weekend! We have a cabin North of Newberry toward the falls. Have been known to stop at the " Tally Ho " for a quick break. Probably had a different name 20 years ago! I’ll take a picture sometime and email it to you if you want.

John, That would be great. I’ll share them with my dad. I still have several relatives that live there. This is just a guess but the Tall Ho may have been the Buckhorn Lodge although there were a couple more places it could’ve been. Oh, I’ve been to Newberry too… beautiful country all around the UP.

Thanks again.

Looks like the coal fired power generation facility in La Grange. If so, you were far from home.

Kinda does look like the one on Fayette County lake, doesn’t it. This one is coal fired and right here in Richmond close to the George Ranch.

I wouldn't want to be looking at it from my house though.

Gotta love BigMac! It has been a while since the current wife and I took a vacation on Mackinac Island. Current sife grew up in Huntington Beach, CA and could not believe that fresh water lakes can be that big. I was stationed at Wurtsmith AFB in the late 70’s took the kids up to see often to see it, they enjoyed and still talk about those trips.
