I found some kind of wood destroying insects on the vinyl siding. I didn’t see this when I first did the exterior inspection. I notice this when I was doing a summary review

In TX, we say wood destroying insects instead of the “T” word unless, of course, you have a pest control license. It helps to tone down your language with the client and keep the identification of the insects to a broad sense. Let the pest control specialist take the liability and call it termites.

Earl how do you know they were wood destroying insects(WDI)? In AZ you have to have a license to say even that. I would be very careful about calling out any infestation unless properly licensed for your area.

Brian, what do you say to people when you find tubes going up the wall?

Thank you, MarkTimpani

I will take on the name Brian and say to the client that I would recommend a pest control specialist. It is possibly some kind of wood destroying insect. I would further say that I am not qualified to make any kind of further assessment due to the limits that the state has put on my inspectors license in regards to pest control.
