Overview for associate home inspectors:
1) Must apply with notarized license holders statement of intent to train.
2) be of good moral character.
3) Supply references.

Overview for existing inspectors: in addition to the above
1) must have completed 100 inspections supervised by a license holder. or:
2) Provided proof of Equivalent experience (trade or reciprocity)
3) Must pass a state administered examination
4) Must post proof of assets over $5,000 (or bond)

I think your wrong on that one they do seem to have on of the better bits of legislation that I have seen recently, although no one likes regulation it is inevitable in most states.


Actually I got a response from the Director of NCHILB, who was good enough to look at what I had posted for his state and validate the information and links. He seems very helpful. I am sure he won’t mind me posting his details here for any members looking to relocate or new inspectors joining the profession.
