Defect:  Interior privacy door latchset is inoperative due to broken and missing latch, preventing door from remaining closed.  Latchset is also expired due to age.  Proper replacement of both latchset and strike plate on door frame is recommended by a certified locksmith, as the strike plate is often implicated in cases where damage has occured to the latch itself.
