Defect:  Asphalt shingles at (location) on roof are damaged.  Shingle tabs have chipped edges possibly from mechanical or weather damage.  Damage to shingles reduces the overall lifespan of the roof covering system.  Recommend replacing damaged shingles to maintain the lifespan of the overall roof covering system by licensed, qualified roofing contractor.
