It would appear that rumors of their death is grossly understated.
Now, it appears more clear than ever why those in leadership positions in that soon to be defunct organization are working so hard to create positions for themselves on state licensing boards. What can we do to hasten their demise? James H. Bushart Professional Building Analyst, BPI Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas 314-803-2167 Inspecting in Aurora, Branson, Carthage, Granby, Joplin, Kimberling City, Monett, Mount Vernon, Neosho, Nixa, Purdy, Reed Spring, Republic, Springfield and surrounding areas.

I left ASHI Earlie last year .
They keep sending me the Reporter and this email every month . I wonder how much they lose by sending out their package each month. ...Cookie If you're having trouble viewing this e-mail, you may see it online. ![]() ![]() Visit With Your U.S. Representative During the Congressional Easter Recess Randall Pence, Capitol Hill Advocates, Inc. Please note: This newsletter provides links to ASHI's Members Only Web site, therefore you must be logged in as a member on www.homeinspector.org to use the links. Questions? Contact miker@ashi.org, 847-954-3189.This is to let you know that both the U.S. House and the Senate are in the Easter Recess this week and next week. Many Representatives and Senators are in your home districts this week, holding field hearings, attending local events, and meeting with individual constituents. This is an unusually busy congressional recess with respect to matters of importance for ASHI members. ASHI is seeking co-sponsorship of HR4776, the Consumer Protection Home Inspection Counseling Act. And of course, the uproar in the financial, credit and housing markets continues. This is a reminder that if you have the opportunity to meet with your Representative locally during this Easter Recess, we would encourage you to do so and would like to hear from you as to your experience. It is often easier to meet with your Representative than most people realize. Members of Congress want to hear from you and would like to meet you. They want to hear your views so that they may better represent you. You are welcome to call the local district offices of your Representative and ask the staff if you might have an appointment to discuss issues with the Representative, or perhaps meet with him/her in relation to a public appearance. A prime issue for you to discuss would be ASHI's request for co-sponsorship of HR4776, the Consumer Protection Home Inspection Counseling Act. Of course, you are free to discuss any issue important to you with your Representative, but we would encourage you to specifically mention support for HR4776. This is timely and very important to ASHI as we seek cosponsors for this bill. To view a sample letter discussing HR4776, click here. If your Representative has questions you cannot answer, please let him or her know to contact me at 703-534-9513I or cha_rp@hotmail.com. And, make sure to mention that you are a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors. If you have questions, you may contact Jeff Arnold, ASHI executive director, at 847-954-3182 or jeffa@ashi.org. Thank you very much, and good luck as you make your views known. SBA Cites Home Office Deduction for Revision The U.S. Small Business Administration's Office of Advocacy has conducted a Regulatory Review and Reform Initiative (referred to as R3) designed to identify and address existing federal regulations that should be revised because they are ineffective, duplicative, or out of date. SBA recently announced its list of regulations for review and revision. At the request of ASHI and several other stakeholders representing small business, SBA cited the IRS treatment of the home office deduction as a regulation that should be reviewed and revised. ASHI was invited by SBA to submit recommendations. Read more... Introducing Our Man in D.C. Randall Pence of Capitol Hill Advocates, Inc. is ASHI's lobbyist in the nation's capitol. Probably smartened up and realized they don't need to belong to any organization to be a professional, reputable inspector.

Steven... don't get depressed yet.. check out state lic sites, you'll see ASHI lost far less than nachi. AZ alone there over 70 nacho certified inspectors that cannot legaly do business in AZ that are still listed by nick as certified members, some of them have been gone for over 2 yrs.... Hmmm...Maybe that explains why nick didn't answer the question, from one of his members, "how many members does nachi have in the states and Canada.??" {after he claimed nachi had 34,400 members} Truth is ASHI deletes members that don't pay to renew after a couple months, ASHI doesn't give away free memberships to a select group to keep the #s up, and ASHI will provide an honest number of current paying members when asked. Of course if you want to compete with non paying members on the find an inspector, pay for membership beenies of non paying members, search the find an inspector to only find out many of the listed inspectors are no longer in business, like the consummer will, the best choice may be #3 if the consumer happens to select your site 1st </IMG> |

What better way for active inspectors that are non members to see what a professional HI that is run by it's members does for our profession. I'm sure if you send them an email, informing them that you prefer to support an org run by a dictator and mini dictators, they will be glad to remove your name |
