Hogwash.

The information John posted is not from the AL state site, it is from Kaplan's site (see the bottom of John's post). Kaplan is a private for-profit competitor of InterNACHI's, not a government agency, and can publish misinformation if it chooses to.

The link Erby posted is not current either. It is the text of the original Bill as written. A Bill is not a website (although it might be found online). One does not go back in history and change the wording of the original Bill over time.

Again, Alabama approved us years ago.

Now Nick, when have you ever seen me post hogwash!

Might want to RETHINK that "not current either" stuff Nick. The link I posted was from the CURRENT Alabama Home Inspectors Licensing Website.

See quoted text below about NACHI's INTERIM approval. The link I posted IS CURRENTLY ON THE ALABAMA HOME INSPECTORS WEBSITE.

Try these on for CURRENT LINKS TO & FROM THE STATE OF ALABAMA HOME INSPECTOR WEBSITE!

ALABAMA HOME / EIFS INSPECTORS RULES AND APPLICATIONS

which links to:

ADOPTED Permanent rules chapter 170-x-24

AND

HOME INSPECTOR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Which currently states:

On August 25, 2004, the Building Commission’s Director permitted interim basis membership to the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI). Therefore, an interim basis license shall be sufficient, for professional qualification requirement ALA. ADMIN CODE r. 170-X-24.05(1)(c)(1). However, should the Building Commission ultimately vote not to include the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI), to its list of approved professional bodies, membership in and adherence to that body’s ethical standards shall cease to be sufficient for purposes of ALA. ADMIN CODE r. 170-X24-.05(1)(c)(1).

AND

HOME INSPECTOR APPLICATION

which does NOT list NACHI as an approved associaton.

This is CURRENT STUFF Nick, not something being dredged up from the past. The paragraph above, on the CURRENT Registration Requirements page is the only mention of NACHI.

Do with it what you will. I ain't in Alabama. The only reason I brought it up was an Alabama Realtor post on Active Rain that identified the NAHI website as the place to find a complete list of Alabama Licensed Inspectors. I wanted to provide her with the correct link so I went hunting and foiund it, along with the lack of NACHI stuff on the CURRENT Alabama Home Inspectors website. Then I wanted to see if anything had been put on here about it and found this post from last year!

And yes, she did change the link to the correct one.

Do with it what you will. I ain't in Alabama. No skin off my nose1

You are correct Erby. And the funny thing is that 2 of the choices aren't associations at all... you can't be a member of them. And 2 of them are out of business. Old pdf.

Anyway, InterNACHI was approved many years ago, this pdf is just older.

Perhaps a little PUSH from the largest home inspection association would get them off their dead *** to update their website.

Surely one of them fine ladies in your office can speak redneck and help them understand what a little PUSH is, right!

I don't think anyone there knows how to update it.

OK-first, I've been fighting Ms. Thomas for over two years to ENFORCE the laws of this state. No one cares as long as SOME of the inspectors are playing by the rules and they get taxes.........that's what this state or office cares about. MONEY.......no enforcement of rules or regulations............I can't wait until we have health care to deal with.......Jesus......has everyone lost their minds?
