I'm thinking of getting a new moisture meter. The one I have is a very cheap one and I'm thinking of getting a better (higher tech) model. Can anyone give me any input on what brands to get or what the best one to get is?
Any help is appreciated. If you really want a cheap alternative, a loaf of white wonder bread against the wall might work. A little humor, Spend the money to get the best instruments you need. That will more than pay for themselves in the long run!!!

No one seems to use the Wagner but they look like good meters. Less money.

Moisture detection is a HUGE protection from liability, since moisture
related issues are the biggest expense paid out on all combined home repairs (fungi-mold, decay, wood destroying insects, electrical corrosion which leads to heat build up, etc...) Buy a dual function moisture meter and it will pay for itself many times over. Remember, your moisture meter is sometimes the only hard evidence you have of an unseen defect. Your meter must demand respect. John McKenna, CMI (TREC #4565)

Quality is long remembered after the price is soon forgot. Buy that Protimeter and Tramex treat them well and they will last a long time. Mine have. T.Neyedli CHI (P) www.alphahomeinspections.ca BPCPA #47827 |
