Default energy efficiency

Has any one heard about the proposed regulation on homes energy efficiency? I have heard rumblings but nothing concrete . Is the gov. actually thinkg about regulating the efficiency of all of the home we inspect? What part of the industry is pushing such a regulation? and how will it be regulated? Just a lot of questions about the interferance of Gov agencys in the housing market.

I believe it is referred to as "Cap n Trade".

The second one is Home Star which is going to give tax deductions to people that upgrade the energy efficiency of their homes. Home Star will require (depends on Silver or Gold Star rating) BPI and/or RESNET audit and work done by a BPI certified contractor.
