Existing home sales slow down

Quote:
Following a couple of months of gains, sales of existing homes retreated again in October, an industry report said Tuesday.

The National Association of Realtors reported that the number of homes sold fell 2.2% from September to an annual rate of 4.43 million. The rate was down 25.9% from 12 months earlier.

Not new. October home sales are down 40% from same month in 2009. October 2009 was down even further from 2008. Average home sales around KC are at 1,400, down from an average of 5,000 per month from 2006.

Still homes are selling, but most are not getting home inspections for several reasons.

I guess "Change" includes change for the worse. Someone forgot to ask for clarification.

August and September national home prices and foreclosure figures updated.

No surprise. We all knew it, we saw it in our businesses. I guess it was just hard for someone to say it for real. It will take years for this thing to come back.
