Default Fireplace
This fireplace insert was in a family room with this vent pipe sticking out of the side of the unit. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Combustion air probably. Did you see a vent on the out side there?

Had a vent out the side of one today and it was associated with a circulation fan to recover heat from the burning wood.
