Does a garage wall have to be sheet rocked on the living side to meet fire wall separation? I inspected a garage that must have been added on to the house and the living side wall of the garage is the house wood clad/siding.
Yes it does Shay, but not necessarily sheetrock or drywall, if it was brick, cinderblock or some other fire resistant material, I wouldn’t have a problem with it, but being wood, I would definitely call it out.

Yup, I had 2 inspections, and neither had it, and these were fairly new houses.
