Funny you brought up franchises. Owners of four of the major franchises have all blamed me over the years for offering everything they do and more, for free, to InterNACHI members. One did it in a large public meeting saying "Why should inspectors pay us for that which InterNACHI provides for free?" The head of another family owned franchise said she was forced to sell last year because of InterNACHI.

I'm not particularly aiming at franchises, but it is difficult for them to justify their fees in a post InterNACHI world.

Excellent point Jeff.

I try. The one big franchisor who complained at a big public meeting figured he was embarrassing me by telling everyone how InterNACHI is so horrible for providing everything to members for free. I pretended that I was uncomfortable a bit and so he kept complaining. The whole time I'm secretly thinking to myself... "keep goin' on and on dude, this is great!"

He was one heck of a good salesman for InterNACHI, not a great as Bushart complaining about our free, state approved CE www.nachi.org/education.htm... but pretty good.

At the following break I was surrounded by franchisees asking me if InterNACHI provides this for free and if InterNACHI provides that for free and asking how they can join.

You can require them to buy/take as many of your CEU's as you wish per year, keeping Nachi and Nachi.TV in business...Do it all yourself, in house, and "bury" us...you can then really call it Planet InterNachi! I am sure McKenna will be the first one to sign up!

You're closer to the truth than you know.

When you ask yourself why Nick would have his attorneys draft non-compete agreements, commercial SOPs and a commercial classification available only to those who agree to use his home-made SOP ---- you will begin to see how the plan unfolds.

Nick has pronounced the home inspection career field as dead....so he has abandoned his idea of a home inspection franchise.

Commercial inspections is another thing.

In days to come, you will be an employee of Nick Gromicko doing commercial inspections....or you will be his competitor. You will be a "member" of nothing, much like you are now.

This will come as good news to the "member" who has no business and nothing to lose.

Watch.

By "nothing", I mean that...then, just as now....NACHI will be a business aimed at making a profit for its owner. "Not for profit" is a term used for tax purposes.

One night, we went to sleep as members of a home inspection association...but woke up as members of a business...someone else's profit making a machine.

That is what I meant by what I said...not a "knock" against NACHI or its members.

That's it in a nut shell...

This place will separate the ethical from the con men is short order. After four years of asking why we don't attract the general home buying public to this association and thus to its member inspectors, I won't be asking or suggesting that idea anymore...
