Read this thread about Nick's good deed for someone who he actually thinks is a iNACHI member.

Now, Nick's intentions are good and the result was very heartwarming....however; read the guy's response. He is not a home inspector anymore. I contacted him and he told me that he has not paid dues "for years" and has had nothing to do with NACHI and, as far as he knew, was no longer a member.

Now....as Nick is blasting off his mouth about "diploma mills"....does this not come back to hurt this association 100 times more?

Realtors in your database listed as "Certified home inspectors" and threads searching for "members" who the head of the association has no way of knowing that the guy left the profession...and NACHI....."years ago".

NACHI could and should be better than this. It takes away from the whole association.

IMO if someone can help another it is a good thing no matter your how others feel. good deed is a good deed

Additionally, his membership expired prior to NAHI's court victory that changed the name of NACHI to InterNACHI....thus....he was NEVER a member of InterNACHI.

It's not that he helped a non-member. I gave him credit for that.

It's that this association...whose ED condemns other associations as "diploma mills" has no idea whom, or how many, have met all of the requirements for membership. He had no way of knowing other than the sister who told him he was a member, that Mr. Saxton had not been a member for two years.

These are the points I am making...which have nothing at all to do with helping his sister.

I think most of it is that you like hearing yourself IMHO, I have no idea why all the bashing and i really don't care. I looked for a couple of years and and decided this group had the most to offer me and for the money the best. The on line courses are tough enough and are up to standard just like the others you pay 300 or more for . You get answers when asked Right away . As far as full time or part time i am a full time inspector. I Love this job and do it with the best ability i can give, And if there is a place like this where i can better myself even more so be it. The bashing part is like a bad movie we can always change the channel but sometimes is time to say this is crap. If you hate it so much why come here Please do not say to educate the rest of us . We are all adults and can make up our minds. If we couldn't should we be in this line of work.

Yes Jim, look at the title of that thread. The first word is "Missing." If he was a current member I could have just given his sister his contact information and address. He hadn't been a member in years and so I was trying to find him for her.

Tell us about these "old records" you are able to pull regarding members who left two or more years ago. In another thread, the only records were....well, I don't want to put words in your mouth. Especially while you are so close to putting your foot in it.

Tell us more about these "old records" you have on all of these thousands of ex-members. For starters....where are they kept?

Jim, read slower. I said that I was not able to pull them (indicating that he hadn't been a member in some time).

Records are kept online for a while in case the member forgot to renew and then does.
