"Independent Contractor" is a classification for tax purposes so a company doesn't have to have employees and the costs involved with employees, not classifications for State requirements.

I do believe you mean a "General Contractors" License.

A CCB license is required if the inspection involves a real estate transaction. Additionally, some lending institutions may not accept inspection reports as part of a real estate transaction unless the inspector has a pesticide applicator’s license from the Oregon Dept of Agriculture (ODA).

I know the Great State of Illinois does not have this requirement. Heck, some states don't have any Licensing requirements for Home Inspectors.

I'm a licensed general contractor, and in California that actually extends my statute of limitation as a building inspector from four years to five years. (Crickey, I hope there're no attorneys reading this).
