Ladder Safety

After Saturday morning’s inspection, I visited my cousin in the hospital. While putting away the Christmas decorations into the rafters of his garage, he leaned over too far and fell off the ladder(about 7 feet).
End result: He broke his left elbow in two places and pulled his groin. He’s basically stuck in the hospital bed because he can’t really walk at the moment. He’s scheduled for surgery on his elbow this morning, and I hope that everything goes well, but he still has a long road for recovery.

So just remember everyone, be mindful as to where you are and what you’re doing when you’re on a ladder, or even performing a task that has an element of danger involved.

Chris

Chris, wish your cousin well for all of us here.

And guys, remember, keep your buckle inside the railings. And keep three points of contact with the ladder at all times. Stay safe.

I imagine the number one reason for inspector accidents involve a ladder.
