I think you are going to have to retire that moniker.

Joe,

I am quite aware of this organization's history.

If everyone is supposed to tolerate "Captain NACHI" then why am I supposed to be silent.

Frankly, I would rather have JB around, like before he soured on NACHI.

My perspective is not for historical purposes. It is for the present.

How is it beneficial for me to be silent whilst others bash?

How does this make NACHI better?

How does one look upon the organizations members when someone actively campaigns against it?

Does it make NACHI or the industry as a whole look good?

Personally, I feel the outside attacks don't make any of us look all that good.

Isn't the point of a trade organization to associate with professionals who share a common goal?

What do you want me to contribute Joe?

William....if I may....I would like to share a perspective with you.

You've been a member for a couple of weeks and, possibly, a home inspector for half that..but it doesn't matter. You're new, you have balls, and you are speaking out for NACHI. That makes you worth something in my book.

Understand that, from my point of view, I did not leave the association. It left me. If you are interested in learning about it, my thoughts on this are well documented.

But as a future contributor...and probably a very valuable member...I hope that you will be equally brave and equally loud to stand up to the leaders of the association that you love and hold them accountable at those times that you feel that it is important to the association.

You will learn the difference between "bashing" and "fighting" soon enough.

Good luck. I wish you well.

Thanks JB.

I have been inspecting for much longer than my membership might suggest. I am new to NACHI yes.

"Fighting" happens in the forum. The "bashing" I refer to was the off site fight.

I am sorry you feel that way about NACHI JB. I understand that the shifting sands of any organization may lead people to feel like that. I have experienced this before.

I don't think you have to agree with everything that governs the organization JB. It seems there is even an issue on the ashi forum that displeases you as well.

Your value to NACHI was not just to NACHI, it was to its members. It was not love for the leaders that motivated my response. I responded:

1: just to yank your chain a bit.
2: to let it be known that I think this type of thread does not promote NACHI from within, but makes us all look a bit foolish...myself included.
3: it amused me to see such antics in response....not you from JB, but a few others.

Thanks for the reply JB. Your civility makes you worth something in my book as well.

I would still like to see the old "Captain NACHI" back at the helm.
