No human has control over the www.nachi.org/webseal.htm other than the member him/herself. The code in www.nachi.org/webseal.htm taps the member's data file. Not touched by human hands.

The point I believe Jim is trying to make is there are plenty of expired memberships that are still listed in the Featured Inspectors link. If operation deadwood were performed the way it should be, I do not believe you would have 6,000 active members.

I believe the system allows a lapse time just in case a member renews late. Myself, I get an invoice in the mail stating that my membership expires a week later than what the system says. Not all things makes sense but that is the way that it is.

Members in arrears aren't counted in www.nachi.org/nachi-stats.htm Neither are non-English speaking members or invisible members.

Chris says that the system is rigged up to mail out invoices 60-90 days in advance of renewal dates, then after the renewal date, if a member doesn't renew, his/her privelages begin to deteriorate over the next 60 days until the member becomes deleted. Deadwood operates independently of this auto-system and can technically delete a member completely the day after a member's renewal date goes by if staff catches it. Often staff is too busy and so relies on the auto system.

An invisible member is exactly as the name implies.... a member who is not visible to anyone. I believe that each member has the ability to make himself/herself invisible, but I've forgotten how it is done. Anyone know?
