Hi guys,

Just wondering what is average for payment to inspectors in multi inspector companies? 50%, 75%, 25% or $/hour???

Any thoughts or words of wisdom?

Dollars per hour for me. I made all my employees salaried employees so that I could direct their work. In other words, if we didn't have an inspection that afternoon, we were doing marketing, database management, bookkeeping, getting the cars washed and vacuumed, whatever. There's more to running a business than just doing inspections.

40% of the inspection, is it worth your time after taxes, gas and wear on vehicle and equipment used. It just doesn't seem worth the money for the liability.

The two NJ multi firms that I know of one is a 50/ 50 split and the other is a 60/40 split with the 60 to the inspector. Each inspector has to be individually licensed and carry his own E&O, so they get paid a little more.
