UPC section 609.9.1-4 mandates disinfection of potable water lines. Houses sitting vacant for more than 30 days may have substantial growth of bacteria in the water lines. Flushing will not remove this bacteria. Protect your clients, make sure the home has been disinfected before allowing a family to move in.Letter - Home inspectors.doc
