No offense, but...

1,235 impressions mean nothing to me. When I am on most sites, and especially on a forum, banner ad's are almost always ignored. I deem them to be a nuisance.
(I also assume the banner was shown on all the pages that these inspectors went to, to preview your forum). Nope... they won't be callin me!

Now, if you told me that out of the 1,235 impressions, 500 were click-throughs, I might pay more attention.

You should have "suspected" that because it's exactly what I said. This site didn't even exist 13 days ago. Give it time.

And I beg to differ on banner ads not meaning anything. Tell that to Google.

Of course Google will tell you they work... they are the one's collecting the proceeds from your ad dollars.

***Just checked my Adwords account..... January 26, 2010 thru current... 210 Impressions... 1 (ONE) click through !!!***

Yep... that Google ad really draws them in!!!

Note: I am organic #1 for my primary keywords, and have multiple placments for links through affiliate sites on pages 1 and 2.

Sounds like a personal problem. If they didn't work, people wouldn't purchase them.

This is all really beside the point. Real-estate-forums.net is a bloggin/forum site. The purpose is the same as any other blogging site. The ad placement is simply a bonus for activity. If I were charging for ad placement, I'd have something to prove.

Exactly... so then why post, bragging about Mike's 1,235 impressions??? The inferance is that this is a big deal, which it isn't. This is misleading to someone that may not understand how these things work.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this.

It was a simple, specific post about banner "views". You, for whatever reason, got offended that I wasn't talking about clicks. 1,235 views isn't too bad for a week on a site that's less than two weeks old. Pretty good start, IMO. I'd be pretty satisfied if that pace continued.

Anyway, sounds like you've got some more important things to figure out. Number one, IMO, being figuring out why you're paying for Adwords when they aren't getting you any results....

There you go assuming again...

I didn't get offended... I was just getting clarification of your post...

I don't pay for Adwords impressions, just clicks. And FYI... just to cover my bases with the lack of clicks, I have my phone number in the ad text just in case someone decides to actually look at it!!!

"Good night, and have a pleasant tomorrow..."

No problem. "Views" means "views". "Clicks" means "clicks". I hope that's clear now. Now, I need a little clarification. When you say "post" do you actually mean "duck"? Because if you're asking about my duck, it's none of your business.

Wasn't comparing "views" to "clicks". I was questioning if "views" were "impressions"! Jeez man, pay attention! How rude !!!

I agree... what you do with your "duck" is your business.
