Mike, you are like a crocodile with lockjaw. Once you get an idea in your head there is no stopping you.
We are in a dangerous profession, I don't care what part of the inspection you are doing, each section has areas of danger, some more than others. Do you take front off of the electrical panel? Why? You could electrocute yourself if you were not ? Do you remove the electrical covers off of the hot water heater? I do, and I could have gotten killed last week because the fiberglass insulation over the elements and thermostat wiring was soaking wet. We all have to determine what is acceptable for each of us as inspectors (some people refuse to walk roofs) and either price accordingly or just not do them.
Nowhere do I see where you are forced to do those type of inspections, so if you consider them too dangerous for you stop doing them and when someone who is doing them gets killed or injured you can sit back with a smug look on your face and say "see, I told you so".

another astute comment from our Dear Mr. Obvious.

We are not required to show photos when we do inspections.

Anyone attempting to take these photos is less than ideal conditions are acting foolish. IT IS NOT necessary. I EXPECT NO LESS FROM YOU THAN JUMPING IN A WEEK LATE AND GOING WITH THE FLOW. sry bout the caps.

I guess i REALLY DO NOT CARE TO much about the fools that just do not get it. KEEP KISSING THE INSURANCE COMPANIES AND USING AS MANY WORDS AS POSSIBLE. Many of you never cease to amaze me with you employee mentality and a-s kissing ways.

maybe SOME DAY i WILL GIVE up ON YOU JOKEers. A great majority of those who post are true patsies. enjoy you station in life.

I dont understand the issue. We do about 60 plus of these a month. Half of which are with a home inspection so as Russ said you are doing an attic inspection anyway. The other half are regular stand alone. But we dont do them for $55 and it doesnt take all that long for most. There are tricks on getting a connection picture.

I was thinking about this thread while lying on my stomach in a 130 degree attic, to get these pictures. One and two are for the wind mit. The third is a reference picture. Look at the left rear of the picture!
It was "broiling" hot in this attic!
