Default Thermal IR imaging and emissivity

Much is made of using Infrared devices such as IR thermometers and Thermal IR imaging cameras for measurement of surface temperatures. However, some do not understand the importance of properly setting the emissivity of these devices. Having improper emissivity settings in IR devices will result in inaccuracies.

For interested parties we have provided a link to an emissivity chart which list emissivity properties for many surfaces both in native state and oxidized.

This can be referenced at:

Hope this can be of some help
