Ben take as much time as needed to make accurate.
That's all that matters.

My house is just under 5 years old. I have a sump pump in the basement and I have never seen it come on by itself. Every now and then I shake the pipe coming out of the pit and the pump will come on and after a number of seconds it will stop. Looks to me like there is something stopping the float. We had some rain this past week and I decided to investigate. The sump is sealed and has a RADON pipe, two HVAC drains, the sump pump discharge pipe AND THE TPR DISCHARGE PIPE!!!!!. They are all sealed into the top of the sump. I took the TPR course and never checked my home!!!!! My TPR discharges directly into the sump. I would never know if it was faulty. My home was built by Toll Brothers. Is there any way that this is an OK situation?

Should be conspicuous. Should not rely on a pump to drain.
