I live here in Johnson County KS, one of the top 3% counties in the U.S.

And it is really bad here. This article is long, but tells about home sales here, and how prices of homes have dropped in other U.S. cities. Check out the home builders and permit numbers from 2005 to 2011. What a drop. Leawood KS is one of the most affluent cities in the U.S. and check out the average home price declines. Article states that over one third of the agents in Kansas have left the business since 2008. This is the most truthful article full of stats that I have seen in months.
