Default White spiders in the crawlspace

I'm pretty sure I read something on this MB about these lifeless, white coated spiders that I regularly see in crawlspaces. I am having no luck finding any info through searching, though. Can someone enlighten me on this condition? causes? etc.

Thanks in advance.

Are you sure they are actual spiders and not just a molt? As spiders grow they molt, shed their exoskeleton and that maybe what you are seeing.

I didn't really do an analysis to see if they were real. I just wondered, because I see them quite often. Your answer makes sense, Chuck, I appreciate it. However, what's with the white crap?

Covered in fungus, mold. I see them now and then in damp crawls and basements. Usually daddy longlegs, they like moisture.
