Default Wind Mitigation Inspections

I'm a Florida based home inspector and have had several calls requesting "Wind Mitigation Inspections" that their insurance companies have requested. Are there special certifications for these?

Hi Donald,

there have been dozens of posts on the message board on this subject, try typing wind mitigation into the search function at the top of this message board.

Regards

Gerry

Yes and no. Some insurance companys have there own form for these inspections and will accecpt them done by any Contractor, Arcitact, building inspector. Some company's are requireing that the inspection be done by and Accepted inspector who passed a test thru the www.mysafefloridahome.com. administered by the University of Florida. IF the owner wants to apply for a grant, they must go thru MSFH. The MSFH inspection is free to the homeowner. Cost for the class is $175.00
