The inspections that were done in 15-20 min were not home inspections. They were inspections done to determine if line items were complete such as foundation or elect rough-in. Now I know that this is way below what a home inspector is trained to do and if I had 3-4 hours a day to spend on regular home inspections I would. I have a day job and these crappy little draw inspections brought in almost 30K this year for me before work, lunch breaks and some weekends. So PLEASE do not sign up for Draw companies if you don't like what they do because I have a kid in college and another starting next year. DDN was great till the end. It was a $2,300 lesson for me.

HERE IS SOME GREAT INFORMATION FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WANT TO EARN MORE MONEY FOR "DRAW INSPECTIONS"
http://www.nachi.org/forum/f2/draw-inspections-46351/ Quote Dale Duffy: I have never worked for DDN, or any other Draw Inspection Company, but I have and do work for: ***** Bank ****** Bancorp ******* ****** Hills Bank **** ** Arizona ******* Bank ******** * ***** (*&* Bank) ********* Bank ***** ***** Community Bank ********* Community Bank ****** ****** & **** (Now US Bank) *********** (Now Bank of America) ***** Bank (*) Edited for my Arizona competition. These banks pay between $200-$300.00 per draw...some are affiliated throughout the US as you would probably guess and every Bank has also worked with just about every Draw Company there is...they will allow Small Companies perform Draw Inspections if your inspection reports are less than what companies like DDN charged, which I know for a fact was usually $250.00-$300.00 per draw. So lets assume I charge less than $250.00 (which I do) but only an amount less than $250 that would buy a No.4 at Burger King. All it takes is have a "Sample Report", Insurance, and speak to the loan officer in charge, dress like your a businessman, not an inspector, and sell your service, it's very easy. I use HomeGauge, so the Bank has a user name and password to login just like a client to view the reports, all stored at the same location and in the order the inspections were performed, but they have the option to search for what report they may need to view by using HomeGauges search tools where the reports are stored. Probably the same as Dom's Homeinspector Pro system or Fetch Report upload systems, but I have never tried others so I don't know for sure. So if you want to do draw inspections, talk to banks, not draw companies, and get paid well for simple work. Dale Duffy 602.402.5305 Inspect Arizona Companies, Inc. Don't let these companies get into you too deep. I got this from DDN.
To all Inspectors/Builders: Due to the continuing decline of the construction markets, government intervention in the foreclosure process, and frivolous lawsuits filed against the company, DDN Services has ceased operations effective today. We no longer have any staff to accept your calls. We have been operating using a line of credit since April and that line of credit has now been exhausted and we have no further funds on which to operate. The December 15th and December 30th inspector payables cannot be released or mailed for this reason. We regret this occurring, but have made every effort to develop new business for the last 2 years and have exhausted our financial resources. We do not anticipate being able to make further payments to inspectors. We will send an email update on January 5th to provide a status update. Doug Stuart There was of course no follow up e mail on January 5... at least none to me. |
