AAA wants to know if we will offer a $10 discount to their members. Should we?

I am all for it. I am considering a $20 discount to all veterans.

I offer a $50 discount for all active military. That is my only discount. I'm not sure how far discounts should go. Someone mentioned police, fire, teachers..... When does it stop? Costco members? Airline employees? Truck drivers? Where do you draw the line in the sand?

As a side thought, if your competitors are all NACHI members and we all offer the same discount, hasn't that just become an overall lowering of our local industry price structure? Shouldn't we be trying to raise our prices overall and not lower them?

I might consider it if there was an "only" clause. If AAA "only" recommends NACHI inspectors and doesn't enter into agreements with ashi or nahi or any other group. Otherwise I see it as nothing more than a marketing ploy for AAA, not us. What good does it do us if they recommend all inspectors in all organizations?
