I'll bite -What evidence?
From what I read he was a rather strange, eccentric, inventor, dreamer, etc.
Having died 64 years ago and before the invention of the transistor his life seems to the subject of a fair amount of fanciful folklore.

For great batteries check with the local GSA auctions and sales. The military changes their deep cycle batteries on a regular basis even though they may have years of life left. Those old batteries are sold dirt cheap at the auctions.

Lucky here in Washington with the Navy base, separate Sub base, Army base and Air Force base.

I had a client that told me about this. He has built two electric cars with those old batteries. Too bad they didn't have anything to replace the failed LP siding.

Can you find these at the auction there in Auburn?

never mind on the inventions, i just did more patent searchs, and it looks like i waited too long again,my exact ideas have not been copied but they are very close. i have to go cry now. sorry
