Excuse me, if it wasn't for those like you who facilitate this problem by being a dependable voting block for your "the lesser of two evils" party, we wouldn't have so much to complain about in the first place. My point still stands.

Third parties, in the last 40 years have garnered no more than 6% (John Anderson).

And the take away from the winner haveing more that 50%, which gives the wingnuts (on both sides) one more agruement.

i am not blind, and not a follower and not part of a block.

I am a Republican and a Conservative (not necessarily the same thing, BTW) and believe in reality, i.e., making the best choice of the available choices.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how absolutely dead the message board has been these past few months.

I mean, if it were not for politics and debates on whether God uses mustache wax or not...there would be hardly any posts at all.

Slow market.

an old, wise inspector (and an ASHI member, go figure. Very respected, in this area, for helping others and looked up to by members of all the associations) once told me that 90% of the inspections in our area (Northern Illinois, with Chicago and many large urban areas) are done by 10% of the inspectors.

Those inspectors are:

1) Full time.
2) Solid businessmen (i.e., know about business, accounting, law, as well as HI).
3) Technically, at the "cutting" (read: bleeding) edge.
4) Have other business (i.e., litigation inspections, moisture intrusion, building maintenence and construction problem inspections, Thermal, mold, IAQ, energy, wells, etc) to pull up the slack.
5) College educated (which only proves that you can learn new things and, in some cases, be able to teach yourself).
6) Always marketing.

I couldn't care less about what's thrown out into the media. It's politics and both candidates are guilty to some degree. I don't agree with Will's politics, but having had the opportunity to meet him and enjoy talking with him in Boulder this sumer, without checking his facts, he strikes me as a guy who does his homework.

For politicians, it's about manipulating public perceptions in order to win, and at the presidential level they play hardball.
Forget the campaign promises, forget what they say about each other... If you want to know what they'll do as president, look at their past voting records. It's not always accurate but it's a good place to start. It will tell you who they've been for a long time.

Now maybe you know someone who has changed their whole personality suddenly when they're past the age of 40, but I dont. Still, People will take actions which are not true to their personality when the stakes are high. Of course they have to calculate the risks. and when the odds are heavily against you, sometimes you take heavy risks. Risks like taking on a woman running mate who is obviously unqualified and is under investigation for abuse of power but who is attractive.

McCains choice is a complete insult. He gambles that men will vote with their libedos and women will vote with their hearts and neither will vote with their minds.

That's my opinion, but you should have your own. That said, I just went online and tried to find a neutral site listing the candidates past voting records and couldn't find one. Can anyone recommend one? That's NEUTRAL.

You know, many people bombarding you with what they call "political facts" don't care a hoot about educating you or telling you the truth, they just want to manipulate your vote. Their methods include extreme statements about their opponent and giving you information which is either difficult to verify or which they think you'll be too lazy to verify. Unfortunately, both parties use the same methods.

I think this site tends to have the least amount of bias towards a single party or stand. It has quite a bit of information about issues, voting records and other information. Good luck.

A good arguement can be made that the Iranians knew (because Reagan had told them) that if the hostages were not released, he would bomb them to the stone age.

Everyone knows that Carter had no "balls" when it came to military action.
