Europe has more Muslim's than any other religion. I suppose that their great number entitles them to protect their culture through the legal system.

It's probably equally abhorent to them to learn that in the US one can be imprisoned and fined for burning the American flag.

I suppose that the Europeans are coming to regret the loss of freedoms that come from a religion that rules its followers through governmental policies and actions. It's enough to make one cherish the barriers that we have in place in our country between church and state.

Today, defacing a flag is an act of protected speech under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, as established in Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397 (1989), and reaffirmed in U.S. v. Eichman, 496 U.S. 310 (1990).
