Best way to fix the US economy

Dear Mr. President,
Patriotic retirement:There's about 40 million people over 50 in the work force; pay them $1 million apiece severance with three stipulations:

1)They leave their jobs. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.
2)They buy NEW American cars. Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.
3)They either buy a house or pay off their mortgage- Housing Crisis fixed.-

All National financial problems fixed!!!

And just how much money would this save the federal government?

Two problems I see. Both math. First, I don't believe there are 40 million people in this country between the ages 50 and 65. Can't prove it, just doesn't smell right. Second if there are, 40 Million times one million is 40 Trillion. That's four times what that moron Obama already wants to spend. Won't work. Concept is interesting, the details however don't pan out.
