I think this just shows what an idiot McCain really is. While I don't like Romney, he would or at least could have helped McCain get elected. Personally I think that seals the deal, Obama is the next president. The Republicans came up with a geezer who is likely to die in office, and a know-nothing housewife to take his place? Well at least that sews up Alaska wonder what his plans are for the other 49 states.

18 months ago Hillary and Rudy looked like they had it all wrapped up, and look what we got. Who would have thunk?

No, do you think the president has any control over the 2nd Amendment? How about Roe Vs Wade?

These issues are only talking points & wishful thinking on the part of a candidate seeking votes. If Constitutional matters could be dictated from the Oval Office they would have been reformed long ago during the Reagan Administration.

Listening to McCain introduce Palin. I'm excited. This woman has grit and her resume makes Obama's look like a absolute joke.
Obama made a huge error in ignring Hillary. He will live to regret it.

Palin for pres.

Except that the next president will have three or four supreme court nominees. If Obama gets in and has a democrat senate, he will appoint justices in the ilk of Ginsberg, and the second amendment could be overturned.

This has always been the argument of the left, that conservative presidents can appoint more conservative justices and overturn Roe v Wade.

Blaine.....can you give even 1 example of the Supreme Court ever overturning an Amendment to the Constitution? just 1. Talk about puffery. Amendments can only be overturned by another Amendment. ie. 18th overturned by the 21st. (Prohibition)

Roe v Wade was merely a court ruling, which could be overturned by a court of a different persuasion.

It's not about the second amendment being overturned. That would require 2/3 of the states to agree and only after a repeal amendment was passed.

It's about activist judges "interpreting" want the amendment means.

Liberals have been trying to change the meaning of the amendments and the constitution by appointing Supreme court justices who do not believe in original intent and or the plain meaning of the words used.

I double dog dare any liberal to claim otherwise.

I changed the word Blaine, to the way I see it. Hope you don't mind me borrowing your sentence.

Yeah, well, time will tell but I was expecting a known name for his running mate. Personally, I would have like to have seen US Sen Kay Baily Hutchison talked into it if I thought a female was what was needed to win. She's got the background and the cajones to do the job.

Cool Re: Boston Herald: Pawlenty VP

Just got back from a long day of crawlspaces & attics! With out further ado................. I love this pick!

Hard working Union husband.......should attract Robert the Chicago Obama supporter.

Environmentalist...........which should attract treehuggers (as Ken would say).

A woman.........which should attract women.

A good looking woman........which should attract Brian

A card carrying NRA Moose hunter that should attract Joe B. (never mind I got carried away).

And shes vetoed, set budgets, commander of the Alaskan guard.........which Obama and Biden both have never done......................BOOM!!! Like a Fox!

Remember this morning Michael when I was asking you about her? Low and behold there she is!

Come aboard boys and girls....no hard feelings

What a pick?

John McCain on Friday announced a running mate whom he met only six months ago and with whom he spoke just once on the phone about the position before offering it in person earlier this week.

McCain’s first encounter with Sarah Palin came at a Washington meeting of the National Governors Association in February, according to a campaign-provided reconstruction of how the little-known Alaska governor was thrust into the national spotlight.

"By picking somebody he and most Americans barely know — an out-of-the-blue decision that sent shock waves of disbelief through the political world and still has jaws agape — McCain has taken a considerable gamble."

"Palin, 44, is less than two years removed from being mayor of Wasilla, Alaska; has no military or foreign policy experience in a time of grave international threat.

She might look alright, but is in no way, shape or form, ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency of the United States.

I will keep reminding you guys that Obama is even less qualified and he wouldn't even have to wait for a missed heart beat.
