I have a customer who purchased a home warranty. His A/C failed due to a leak in the condensor coil. Since his unit is a 12 SEER, he is being told that he must upgrade to a 13 SEER. Of course this means replacing the evaporator unit as well. The warranty company is telling him that, since there is nothing wrong with the evaporator, it will cost him $900.00 out of pocket.
I've heard rumors that the new SEER rating may be repealed. Has anyone else heard this? Is it true? If so, when? I'm just trying to save my customer some $$$ Thanks |
