The general public is obsessed with the word certified.

Certified Home Inspector and Certified Home Inspectors are also high on the list of terms consumers use to search for inspectors.

Master is not. Licensed is not.

Personally I would not see them searching for Master Inspector either to be honest with you...I see them searching for Certified Home Inspector or Master Home Inspector before just Master Inspector....but thats me...

So how do we rank on 'Master Home Inspector "......

EWWW...we arnt too good on that one....irronically I see Building Specs has their OWN Certified Master Inspector classification...how does that PLAY on the registered trademark....
If you were looking for a HI in Portland Oregon what would you type into Google?

What would your Mom or Sister use for search terms?

Master is not used by consumers in searches... in almost any profession (except for maybe electricians and plumbers being sought by other tradesman). Consumers (the one's buying homes) are obsessed by the word Certified.

Certified Home Inspectors
Certified Home Inspector
Certified Inspectors
Certified Inspector

are what consumers use in google, msn, yahoo, etc.

I tracked pay-per-click advertising for years, the keyword "certified" is not what I call a "hot" search term in the two most popular sites and their affiliates.Google Advertising Programs

The 4 above followed by the city they're looking in is a popular search phrase too, example: Certified Home Inspectors Seattle.

It seems to me if a person was looking for a HI they would search for say

"Certified home inspector(s) in Portland Oregon" or a variation of the same key words.

From my web site tracker data: Folks useually use "Tucson Arizona Home inspector(s)" or a variation of those key words. However, lots of people find my site by searching for Plumbing info, Realtor info etc.

Consumer obsession with the word certified is even noticed in other areas as well. I guess that is why the word certified is so heavily used in advertising of everything... including Microsoft Certified...

Anyway, it can't be denied... and I for one am not about to fight consumer market trend. I just go with the wave.

The word certified and the city the consumer is looking in (and combinations thereof) are the searches being done.

The term "certified" is on the low end of the totum-poll compared to "phoenix home inspector" without the word certified. In searches.

NACHI has a website for every city in teh U.S. and Canada (350,000) of them!

They are used primarily for search engine optimization purposes for our NACHI members. Pick a state and I will list the sites for you here for fun. There is a gray background in the back which we are fixing but as I said they serve a particular purpose.

Anyway, the reason we built 350,000 sites, one for every city in N. America is because consumers type in cities. Pick a state.

Dale, you are counting all the non-consumer (inspectors for example) searches in that data. Those hits don't count as they are generated by people who are not about to hire an inspector. Anyone who ever got suckered into the InspectionNaziNews advertising scam figured that out.

Your missing the point!

"Phoenix Certified Home Inspector" is not as good as "Phoenix Home Inspector"

Regarding the number of times each of those keywords were used in searches!
