Ahh, Minnesota, the land of 10,000 Lakes. You have to get a permit to pick your nose or swat a mosquito if you are within the allowed setback from the lake.
I’m sure a permit was not issued for this deck though. At least I bet the main post footing is flared at the bottom!

Roy, that is about the most creative deck I’ve seen! What might be more fun would be to find out if a permit was pulled! Ha!

They must have got caught. It is now being dismantled,
