I do not get the displays with the shuttle. Can somebody explain this to a country boy like me?

It's not just the shuttle (the ultimate symbol of ingenuity), it's that it's flying over dinasours (extinct).

After I looked up the word "ingenuity" I understand now. The teachers in my two room schoolhouse, when I was a kid, did not talk like that.
