That doesn't mean a thing if the public doesn't have a clue as to who NACHI is. The landing page needs to say it.

I hate to say it, but ASHI has a great front page...

Here, add some photos to the front page that will make it not so boring.

This page will be for Nick everytime he loads the front page.

Here's my suggestion to get the ball rolling as to what should be where. I've posted it as a word doc so anyone can play with it and add or delete stuff.

Being one of the new kids on the block my first thought of our home page was OH MY...

I like Gerry's idea of three different sections to direct consumers, agents and inspectors. I would remove the link buttons and tabs to the left and on top of the page. Place a flash InterNACHI banner at the top and bottom of the page. Under the top banner on the left place a find an inspector section and to the right a short 'about us' statement (or in bullet notes). And then Gerry's sections.

The home page should be readable at a glance and move the viewer on to their area of interest as quickly as possible.

We need a real splash page, and it should not be a revised version of the PHP-style board we currently have. I'm speaking of a paradigm shift in webinology as it pertains to what the public sees. And, I'm not talking about something that looks like one of our chapter sites either.

We're speaking of a new front eng, built from the ground up. We neednt change the BB for nspectors and members to go to. We can profide a link to what exists from the new front-end.

I have suggested this before, as far back as three years ago. I thought the time for some change was way back then.

A pretty and user-friendly front end, with separate sections for realtors, and buyers/sellers.

No stuff for the realtors should link to an existing web-page. Those should be re-written and re-formatted.

Same goes for information to homebuyers and sellers.

Naaa...

Certainly a blurb about how INACHI inspectors are are the best educated, yada yada.

Also Nicks article that reminds agents that their fiduciary responsibility demands that they only recommend the best inspectors, and why NACHI inspectors are the best.

Is this why you can be found so well during searches? Come on Nick. Your not even competing with ASHI on a national level yet when it comes to your site being found.

Listen to Gerry and Mike.

Set the site up as a portal. The landing page should be clean and straight to the point. People get very fustrated when there is a ton of verbiage on a landing page. Give them the option to go view other others once they understand what your site is all about off your landing page. One quick thing I noticed is maybe I'm missing it you have no home button to get back to your landing page.

To long: IMO should read...

National Home Inspection Association. We educate, certify, and promote home inspectors all across the country.

<meta name="keywords" content="nachi,internachi,home inspectors,how to become a home inspector,national association of certified home inspectors,certified home inspector,become a home inspector,certified home inspectors,national home inspectors examination,home inspector,national home inspector examination,national home inspectors exam,home inspector exam,inspectors,building inspection,building inspectors,certified home inspector,find a home inspector" /><link rel="shortcut icon" type="image/vnd.microsoft.icon" href="/favicon.ico" />

To many keywords.

<title>Home Inspector - InterNACHI: home inspection/inspector</title>This one is huge. Your title needs to say your a national home inspector association.

Ya, customers will not spend the time to read anything unless it is clear and to the point. Advertising 101. You do not need to stick everything on your homepage, just enough to get the customer to click to another page, then another, so on and so on.
The simpler, the better.
