Joe F,
I understand that John rubs some the wrong way, just as Jim B does. I don't see where John has any conflict of interest in that his national chapter provides a valuable service for NACHI members who cannot or prefer not to attend physical meetings. Some of the chapters exist only on paper and have never had a single meeting, still many others meet infrequently (or petered out after a good start). Meetings can be hard to attend for a variety of reasons, and good CE, background material, and other useful items from meetings are lost for memebers who do not live in areas with active chapters. John's national chapter is a good thing in my opinion, and I do not see where he has attempted to subjugate the organization, so much as he has enhanced it by helping other members. I am not a member, but as I recall the fee to join was not much which makes it even easier on members to get chapter benefits (especially in relation to attending regular meetings with dues and dinner fees, etc) and I don't see where they adopted their own COE or ESOP or anything else that would make them a competing org. As for turning over the ED role, I am sure that there is some function performed behind the scenes, but I am not sure what the impact is for regular members like me in whether John or Nick or RR performs those functions. It isn't like anyone but nick ever gets to decide anything anyway. Besides, with several projects announced, but yet to come to fruition, perhaps it is best to let Nick focus his energies on completing those while allowing more mundane day -to-day operations go as they are. |

I see Joe's post as a statement there are many here who wish there was more professionalism and decorum with respect to other organizations - particularly from those in positions of authority here at NACHI, but also from the membership in general. Kind of the "golden rule" idea. I think that is an OK thing for the general public to know. Especially given that the attacks on those organizations are also made in the public forum. |

You should come to NH and see how the golden rule works here, it's not pretty believe me. |
