I guess I am confused. I thought chimneys and fireplaces are in the iNACHI standards of practice. I know, Nick, you mean well, but you are just adding fuel to the fire here in Kansas. The new law says that if you are doing single component inspections, you are exempt from the new Kansas home inspection laws. Sounds like you are pushing us away from full home inspections. RE's may agree with you. I am too old to climb onto top of chimneys, as most of us are.

Yep, it gets even more ridiculous when you realize that in many states you need a license to inspect a 1500 square foot home, but no license to inspect an entire 8 building office complex: www.nachi.org/comsop.htm

Is part of your delay in waiting until Saturday to announce the new SOP due to a pending review by the ESOP Committee?

Why have you excluded this SOP from review by the ESOP Committee?

I haven't. It won't be done until this weekend at which time it will be posted for all to review.

I see that it will NOT be the ESOP Committee who reviews and decides on the new SOPs.

I suppose, from what I am hearing, that IS good.

Was that a "shot" Jim?

What have you been hearing that concerns you?

Has there been a recent addition to the ESOP Committee? Was this announced somewhere?
