Hi Marcel,

Chris has developed the system so that Education proviers can get a unique code for each class that they run that meets nachi education requirements, those who have taken classes which have been granted these codes will only have to put in the ID number and the system will auto-populate the rest of the course details.

In future the system will also be interactive to the provider, they will be able to log in as a system administrator and upload all nachi class attendees directly into the log.

Regards

Gerry

Hi Marcel,

Once I get over the vertigo, the headaches, the nose bleeds and my legs have recovered from the vertical scuttle access ladders I should be OK

Here is my headache,

Pulver Pavilion/Cotter Union

Colby’s student center, Cotter Union, will be transformed into a hub for student social life as the result of a $10-million expansion and renovation project underway in 2006-07 and the addition of a new bookstore that will open in 2008. The centerpiece of the project is the Pulver Pavilion, a new 7,000-square-foot meeting area that will bridge the two existing wings of Cotter Union with a café, a snack bar, and lounge space. Built in 1985 to provide a center for student social life after fraternities were disbanded, Cotter Union is undergoing extensive renovations. In addition to reconfiguration and remodeling of 14,000 square feet of existing space, the building will gain 1,000 square feet of new support space beyond the Pulver Pavilion addition.
A second phase of the Cotter Union expansion project—construction of a 9,000-square-foot wing to house the Colby Bookstore—was approved by trustees in January 2007, with completion scheduled for summer 2008.

Designed by the award-winning architectural firm Bohlin Cywinski Jackson (which also designed Colby’s new Diamond Building), the reconfiguration of Cotter Union will alter traffic flow through the building to tie functions together. The goal is to enhance the sense of community and to expand options for social interaction by creating a "living room" for Colby students.
Major event spaces in Cotter—the Page Commons Room auditorium and the Pugh Center—remain open. Construction temporarily displaced other offices and facilities for 2006-07: the Spa (Colby’s snack bar) moved to the Mary Low Coffeehouse, the Office of Student Activities moved to Lovejoy, the student mailroom moved to Dana, and the Blue Light Pub relocated to the basement of the Roberts Building.
Colby received the naming gift for the Pulver Pavilion from trustee David Pulver '63, his wife, Carol, and their daughter, Stephanie Pulver '93. Construction of Pulver Pavilion and renovation work began following formal groundbreaking ceremonies in May 2006. Groundbreaking for the bookstore is scheduled for spring 2007/

Cotter Expansion, Phase II
The Colby Bookstore will move from Roberts to Cotter Union, opening there in the summer of 2008. In January Colby trustees approved a 9,000-square-foot addition to Cotter. Bookstore construction will not interfere with the fall 2007 opening of the Pulver Pavilion.

Pavilion Takes Shape
Extensive excavation and rerouting of utilities was necessary, but workers are now pouring concrete as the Pulver Pavilion begins to take shape. The project is on track to open in the fall of 2007, and another addition to Cotter Union is already on the drawing board.
