Several cracks running in lines throughout the plaster board ceiling. Some cracks are even showing a stair step appearance similar to a cold joint in a block wall. What causes that?
expansion and contraction.
If it is truly plaster, warn/report that large pieces can fall at any moment. And, I mean the whole ceiling in some instances. :shock:
Oh, I see you said “plaster board”…meaning drywall?
Any pictures? If it’s drywall, it could just be a bad taping job.
Does it look like the crack the guy is fixing?
Maybe settling issues.
Old plasterboard is 16" x 48" and staggered on the joists / studs without taping…that would be your stair stepped cracking pattern. Happens a lot.
