This is a crazy log!

Saw this at the Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City, NE (Lied Center, great place).

How did this grow? I’m stumped.

Stumped, really Kenton???

Very funny.

That’s has to be artificial.

Bark will not grow on both sides of the tree.

Sometimes you have to just accept your inner bark and move on.

That’s what I’m trying to do.

Really?

Did you ask them at the ADFarm?

Not that uncommon, really.

(I’ll explain later if nobody guesses).

(Things to do, people to see, money to make)

Jeff

Just got off the phone with the ADFarm. It’s real. Cross section of a tree from Lincoln NE.

See if anyone can get it.

Just Wild Guessing…

  1. Normal tree split by storm
  2. Wound was open to elements and rotted out center of tree
  3. Epidermis of tree continued to grow eventually curling in on itself and closing.

Am I ANYWHERE in the ball park?

Must have used whips to get it to grow like that;)

You just knocked one out of the park, Mark.
