This builder had to build a dam to hold back the lake in order to construct the boat house. I asked how you bid on a job like that, he said you don't. The lots start at a cool mill. The home owner already had him move the dock 6 feet further out. That cost an extra 10k. The final bill won't be known until the work is done.

Crude, but effective. Reminds me of my days spent in cofferdams while constructing bridges in Hawaii. We'd be 60 to 100 feet below the waters surface.

That looks like a Port-a-dam system. I used to work for them for a little bit back in the mid 90's. I spent more time working for their sister company Walking Diving Contractors. They are actually very effective damn systems for doing shallow water work.
