You are welcome to join my club... Vote the Bastards Out, our only rule is to never vote an incumbent back into office, no dues required, no party affiliation necessary.

Better yet, vote both parties out as well. These dumb@$$ Republican and Democrat parties don't know how to do anything other than prostitute our nation out to lobbyists and how to con voters into voting for them by scaring them about their opponents. And please don't give me this crap that my vote only counts if it is for the projected leader or the runner up; I consider voting for the lesser of two evils the biggest waste of a vote.

One thing that most here don't seem to grasp is that much of this money was not "stolen" but just went away.

Silly, you say? Not at all.

Econ 101. Investments (stocks, bonds, and mortgage securities) are only worth as much as a person is willing to pay for them.

If you bought a stock at $100 and it went down to $10, it's not that someone "stole" the $90, it's only that the (percieved) value of the stock went down $90. If anything, the person that you bought the stock from has the $90, but you and he agreed, at the time, that the stock was worth $100.

Same thing here. It is not that someone walked away with the money. It is that the value of the assets (in this case, bad mortgages) went down, along with all other house prices.

So, forget about finding some fat cat with billions of dollars stuffed under his matress. The money was not real money, only the value attached to motgage securities.

Hope this helps;

Well except for those that walked away from their mortgage and living in the house until they were booted.

Not to mention the commissions and bonuses paid to those selling the mortgage backed financial instruments.

Nick,

I will agree with you 1000% !!!! I'll take this one step further as well. It is the American Sheeple (not people but sheeple) that generally use that line. Those are the ones that are to afraid to stray from the flock and those that want to claim bragging rights to "voting for the winner". These are the same people that will even claim that they voted for the winner, even when they voted for the other lesser of the two evils.

No vote is a waste, even voting for a non Democratic or Republican candidate. If the American Sheeple would wake up, do a little reading and then vote for other than Democrat or Republican could you just imagine the message that could be sent?? A democrat or Republican would probably be elected anyhow but if 30%, 40% or more of the votes came in for other party candidates that is a HUGE message to our government. It would also be very hard for the media not to make a big story out of it!
