Default Emergency Room

The other day, I had to go to the emergency room.

Not wanting to sit there for 4 hours, I went to the Army-Navy store, and bought some OD pants and a shirt.
Then I sewed a couple of patches on which I grabbed from the internet..

It was amazing how many people left as I walked in.
I guess they suddenly decided they weren't that sick after all..

Here is the patch that you can sew on your clothing if you are in need of quicker emergency service.

I think impersonating an officer is an offense. Be careful.

Imagine how quickly the construction sites would empty out if you strolled in with that on.

Yesterday I performed a new construction inspection for a buyer, which was in the final stages of completion. The three workers that were there dissappeared quickly.
I guess even a digital camera, notepad, and laptop makes them a little nervous. They eventually returned after the site super had walked through.

I used to work for OSHA and occasionally inspected migrant labor camps. All it took was the sight of the camera to make them run.

I was in the ER yesterday. Fortunately Joe must have shown up before me, because the waiting room was empty and I was seen immediately.

Thanks Joe!

(migraines are the nastiest thing next to kidney stones btw. I was ready to ask for a bullet to the brain by the time they hooked up the IV and gave me an abdominal injection of imitrex.)

Joe,

While we are on the subject of faking your occupation, I've got a good one.

I supervised a re-hab job in the U.S. Embassy in Columbia several years ago. While I was there, I went to the Embassy store and purchased a black baseball hat with the big logo (United States Customs) on the front of it.

Upon leaving the country, I placed this hat inside my luggage, on the very top. When I arrived at the airport, I went through Security and they immediately opened up my luggage. The security guard spotted the hat right away, pointed at it and asked me if it was mine. I simply nodded "yes" and he immediately closed up my luggage and escorted me through the screening process.

At that point, I felt like a Diplomat. You bet your ****, that hat went with me to every country I worked in; from that day on.
