On Memorial Day we honor the memories of those that gave our great nation their most precious gift. Mere words cannot convey the debt we owe them and their families. I also would like to remember all those that gave another valued and irretrievable gift - years of their youth in the service. Let us remember those that didn’t make it back home, those that did but came home damaged, and all those that gave of themselves for our country.
I am proud to have served with my shipmates, and to be the father of a man that served his country. You are the finest kind of Americans and today I salute you all.
